55 gallon drum and firebox
Looks like a nice start.
Mounted to stand
Looks good so far.
Nice build at least it want burn out like with direct heat...
Oh yea....very good point. Throw some wood directly in the barrel and burn it out well.
I would now say. You have a smoker. I see the smoke.
Should I put wood in the smoke chamber and burn out good before using?
Yes sir...get a roaring fire going right inside the cooking chamber...and then a good sanding with a wire brush (angle grinder or drill). Follow up with seasoning after the burn and sanding.
Thanks will do that tomorrow before mounting cooking racks
Congratulations on the new Smoker...looks great !
Have fun and as always...
That is a money saving smoker...
Thanks everyone. This is my first build I will let y'all know how it cooks
Looks great and has given me an idea. I build a double barrel smoker with my dad, but this looks smaller and better for the space I have. What did you use for the firebox? I'm guessing it is a custom build. Wish I had a welder...Smoke on!EDIT: If I had enlarged the picture I would have seen that it was in fact custom. What thickness did you use?
I think it is 1/4" but not sure it was a big piece I had laying around
I'm wrong it is 3/16"
