My sisters birthday is July 5th so I'll smoke for both on one day. Probably some pulled pork, corn, and a few other things most likely.
My nephews love that fact that it is called a butt.

One of the reasons I smoke...sort of a tradition in my family that my late Uncle started and I'm trying to continue is a 4th of July BBQ. 13 + family members from my side for ribs. Everyone brings a fixin'....always fun. Next year I'm hoping to add a pool.

haha, my house is definitely not big enough, unless there are only like 10 active members.

Has anyone tried the new and improved Kraft BBQ sauce? It's now thicker, richer and better tasted than ever before. If you haven't tried it you should definitely give it a taste.

hoping "the man" gives me a 3-day weekend as a starter.

either way we have some company coming in from Iowa, and some local family coming out for the 4th, maybe20 people or so.

tentative plan, gonna pull the char griller offset out of the garage where it has been resting since I have been practicing on a loaner WSM the past month or so. If I still have the WSM loaner I will fire up the WSM, the Chargriller, and my Weber Kettle to get the job done.

menu as of today:

- grilled corn on the cob in the husk

- a few slabs of BB ribs, and a few slabs of K.C. Spares

- ABT's

- baked beans with double smoked kilbasa

On the stove I am going to braise a pork shoulder, and make some carnitas for tacos, served with cilantro, red onion, and probably some salsa verder made with some grilled garlic, tomatillos, red onion, jalapenos, and anaheim peppers.

Be sure to tell your son "thank you" for doing what he's doing so we can do what we're doing safely.

I always thought a "cracker" was a derrogatorry term for a white person.

I thought a cracker was something you ate with cheese and sausage??? Will be doing 2-3 briskets, 2 butts, 8 racks of baby backs, and about 20-30 pieces of chicken. Whole mess of food there! I have about 50 or so people coming over and a whole lot of BIG appetites. I will have some Q-view so I will get those up after the fourth.

Mballi tell your son thanks for everything he does and that it is greatly appreciated.

Pig roast. We did one last year during a hurricane, or I should say tropical storm because it didn't seem that bad. 14 hours on an offset (40 lber) If it were'nt for the wind and sideways rain we probably would have been done at 12 hours. This year we are doing another 40lber along with several butts, whole chickens, ribs and briskett on my 22.5 WSM. I have to mod a third grate this weekend.

We live one and a half blocks from the Atlantic ocean in Delray Beach, Fl. The city does a giant fireworks display from a barg about 1/2 mile offshore. So we have a mob of folks coming. Will do some butts, abt's, and probably a couple of fatties.

We're hosting a LAN party (A bunch of geeks getting together bringing their computers and playing games

) So I'm thinking I'll do a shoulder the day before to pull and maybe some ABT's that day.
