Had to run a few errands yesterday on the 4th of July. Man, I should get out more often, anyway went to Bomgaars and grabbed a few bags of LJ 100% Oak pellets (I love these pellets!) and a few other things. Swung into the local grocery store to grab some hamburger meat & buns for our 4th of July meal. This place was packed! It's the closest grocery store on the South side of the Lake and everyone was there at the same time I guess. Biggest shock was the meat cooler was empty of ground meat but they had a whole bunch of the 4 packs of hamburger patties. I've never in my life considered purchasing ribeye hamburger patties for $11.99 for 4 x 1/3 lbs patties but I did today since that was one of few choices (grass feed-ribeye-brisket patties were the only options).
Those hamburgers were awesome. I seasoned them with Kinder's butter burger blend seasoning and cooked them over B & B charcoal brickettes in my 22 Kettle. They cooked so evenly, didn't come apart, & the flavor was next level. I've always been an 80/20 ground chuck guy and I've seen these for a long time but never considered them based on the price. They were a little lean but I can't complain about the experience.
Now I know, and I might buy them again if the occasion presents itself. I always figured it was just marketing but it was a pleasant surprise and an awesome burger!
No pics just wanted to share that for anyone who's seen them but like me stayed away due to the price.
Got a pork butt in the Yoder right now :) We're gonna try something with Poblanos & pulled pork.
Hope everyone had a great Independence Day!
