So I decided to cook for the in laws and the family for fourth of july. few racks of ribs and a brisket flat.  Everything was going well temp was right, smoke was right, just didnt judge the time right, temp gauge in the meat lead me wrong, wasnt done yet, so not pull apart brisket, and ribs werent pull bone out tender.  everyone said was still good but just not where I wanted it.  I didnt follow my normal routine.  now I know better fr next time.  ugh.

Every cook is a learning experience. It will make you a better cook.
 
That's too bad.

It sounds like if you would have cooked them both a little longer, you would have had it perfect!

I usually wrap my meat after 2 or 3 hours didn't do that this time. Just sprayed it down once an hour
 
We are all our own worst critics, don't get down on yourself.  I know I let the stress of cooking for my family get to me sometime.  It's always hard to plan on an exact time to eat.  I'm no expert but if I know I need food done by a certain time I almost always will wrap.
