Decided to smoke a London Broil the other day.  Marinated over night and then smoked for an hour or so at 225 over cherry wood till reached 110 degrees and then finished off on grill till 125 degrees and medium rare.  The meal turned out great but the best part is the drama that happened during it.  While I was smoking I hear police and fire sirens blaring and getting closer.  Initial a police car goes by and slows down at my neighbors (which is common as they are elderly with medical issues) and then goes by.  Soon the ladder truck comes up the road and stops a couple houses down before ours.  Then a volunteer in a pickup comes by and slows down asking for a house number that doesn't exist saying they got a call of smoke coming from the front door of a residence but the house number they gave doesn't exist.  I say I haven't noticed anything or smelled anything.  As he pulls away it dawns on me that perhaps someone called in my house as I had the smoker going on the sidewalk in front of my house.  As the fire chief comes up along with 2 other tanker trucks I mention this to him and he says perhaps it could be.  So in the end I had 3 fire trucks (ladder truck and 2 tankers), 2 police cars, and another 5-6 volunteers all in front of my house over a smoked London Broil.  Wish I had more going as I would of invited them all in.  Perhaps will smoke up a few more and drop them by the fire house on one of their training nights.

Great story, one to tell the grandkids. Glad everyone is ok and your London Broil looks delicious!
