275 Fuel oil tank

In Wisconsin there seem to be an abundance of these tanks coming out of old farm homes etc. I have seen, from a distance, some of these made into a smoker. I want to add a firebox on one end and mount itall on a trailer. I assume someone here has done that. Can anyone reference some past builds on here? Also, I have recently heard of something called "reverse flow". Can someone explain this to me? Is it better(in what way?) than other builds? Can i do a "burn out" to get rid of residue from the fuel oil? Any additional things I should be aware of? How about heat paint? Is is availabel in colors Red-Orange-Yellow?

http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/f/201/reverse-flow   Here is a search on reverse flow builds... Please read some of the threads and get some ideas of what you would like to do and ask some specific questions.... there are so many ways to build stuff, a general question is difficult to answer....

Also, I have recently heard of something called "reverse flow". Can someone explain this to me? Reverse flow is where the firebox and smoke stack are on the same end of the smoker... The heat and smoke take a 180 at the far end of the smoker... Most folks feel this is the most effective smoker for even temps and cooking....

Can i do a "burn out" to get rid of residue from the fuel oil? Yes, and it is necessary to remove any potentially harmful residue..

Any additional things I should be aware of? Take lots of pics during the build and ask any and all questions...

How about heat paint? Is is available in colors Red-Orange-Yellow?
