Hey everyone,
Been busy and haven't done much smoking but today I got a great deal on bellies at $2.22/lb so I bought three and tossed them in the brine today.
My Super Bowl menu changed several times over the week but I finally decided to try a project I've been thinking about for a while. I haven't seen anyone do these before. I mixed up a batch of Manapua (Char Sui Bao) dough and divided it into 12 pieces. I rolled these out and stuffed them with a...
We were running low on bacon so it was time to stock up. I went on vacation to Hawaii but before I left I put a belly in Pop's brine. Two weeks later I pulled it out, covered in coarse black pepper and smoked for 36 hours with Apple dust in my amnps. I also through a bunch of cheese in with it...
Went to restaurant depot today and picked up a trio of flat briskets for 2.15/lb. They are big at approximately 9.5lbs each. Decided to do one tonight. Rubbed it and put it in the mes a few hours ago. Here's the before shot:
I thought I'd throw this out there for anyone looking for a great deal that has a Safeway store near them. I picked up an 8lb package half sliced, half whole. I've got the roast in the smoker now with Jeff's rub along with some chuckies with Cherry wood. I'll post a qview later.
Bought 3 packages of butts from Costco today for a total of right around 45 lbs. Here they are all sliced up:
And here it is all ground up 15 minutes later:
Tomorrow I will mix up seasonings and start to cure and stuff.
Stay tuned...
I made two of these the other night. They came out tasting great with almost a ham type flaver. Made a rub with salt, brown sugar, paprika, and pepper. It was great. Here's the q view:
The dogs liked it too:
Hi everyone- My name is Adam and I'm from Colorado Springs, CO. I joined a few months ago but just started posting. A buddy of mine got a traeger smoker last year and I've been jealous ever since. I couldn't quite afford the traeger yet so I picked up an MES 30 with the window from Sams club...
I will update these as I go along. We are having a yard completion/end of summer BBQ this weekend with about 40 guests. Yes, it took me all summer and then some to totally redo my yard. So first, a picture of the new back yard and new patio:
Now a Qpreview:
So I'm going to do all three of...
They ended up sticking to the bones a bit more than they should have but they tasted great. My girlfriend doesn't like ribs so I haven't had an occasion to try again yet.
Been registered for a while figured I would post a few pictures of what I've been up to. Here are a few briskets I've done on my MES 30 with AMZN.
No smoke ring on any of these but they sure tasted delicious. I haven't really gotten a smoke ring yet on any of my briskets, but I've heard...
