Studied up here as usual, rubbed with EVOO and McCormick's Mesquite seasoning then some dill weed on top. I used some cherry wood I found.
Took less than an hour in my smoker, I have no temp control.
I pulled it at 134 degrees when I saw the oils rising and it flaked easily.
Good stuff!

I just made some the other day I thought turned out good.
I used yellow mustard and rub, then I put them on a very hot grill and kept turning them every few minutes so they didn't catch on fire. I grilled them maybe 10-15 minutes. All I was doing was bringing the internal temp to 160.
Then I...
No, there is no water pan. It is more or less sealed when the lid is on, so you don't need one.
At least that is what they say.
I would think you have to remove the top to get to the bottom. That's how mine is now.
I never would have bought an electric smoker, I have always been for charcoal...
Hello everyone,
My father-in-law told me he cut down an oriental apple tree and wanted to know if I wanted any of the wood.
Can I use this to smoke with?
Also I have a Japanese plum tree (I think  ) in my front yard. I need to make sure what it is, but if so, would I be able to use...
Hey everyone,
Just wondered if anyone has this smoker or has used it??? If so please let me know what you think of it.
I like the looks of it.
I will include a pic.
Thanks!
Thanks, I'm all set!
And I'll try the Cavender's.
What does anyone think about wood for beef? Hickory or mesquite?
I'm ordering some more wood soon so I have a better variety to try.
Thanks!
Hey CS,
After seeing your pic here I decided I had to try some beef in the smoker. Really looks good. :)
I picked up a sirloin tip roast, I'm probably going to do it toward the end of the week.
I'm going to use a spicy mustard and some kind of rub.
I had a few questions though please.

Hey guys,
I cut it up and meant to take another picture it looked so good, but I forgot. Had eating on my mind :)
If I think of it I will take a pic tomorrow of the leftovers.
I read how Dutch did his in the red sauce thread and modified a little. I rubbed with a nice chipotle mustard I had...
My wife loves lamb so I tried smoking a leg of lamb today, really good!
I bought the Taylor probe thermometer mentioned on this site and set it to 145. Turned out perfect! The meat turned out like prime rib and wasn't greasy at all like it usually is in the oven.
Anyway, this was my second...
Thanks everyone. Those are some good ideas, I'll let you know what I end up doing.
cajunsmoker: No, I have no idea. It was in my Dad's freezer and he didn't want it. I didn't even ask where he got it.
How long do you soak the meat in buttermilk? Just for future reference.
I think I am going...
Hey everybody,
My Dad gave me some venison. A roast, a steak and some ground meat.
I've been looking on here for what to do with it. I've eaten deer plenty of times but never cooked it, let alone smoked it.
I just saw about soaking the roast in italian dressing overnight then wrapping it in...
Thanks everybody!!!
I want to try some spareribs next. I think they will be even better. The country style are a little to 'porky' for me. Good to start out with though, I feel more comfortable for round 2. Didn't know how my smoker was going to perform.
I need to get some ribracks, what I'm...
3-2-1 method. They really turned out good. Very tasty!
Glad this site is here or I would have been clueless on what to do.
The family really liked them.
Thanks!
Hi,
I've been studying up and am ready to try my first ribs this weekend.
Someone gave me this smoker. I think it says in the manual it is preset to 250 degrees.
I was going to try the 321 method I read here.
My question is, I know 250 is a little hotter than the desired temp of 230 or less...
Thanks guys!
I will definitely be asking questions.
I think I am going to try my first batch of ribs next weekend with the 3-2-1 method.
Can't wait!
I'll have my questions ready before I start.
Hi,
My name is Doug from Pittsburgh. Someone just gave me a Brinkmann Gourmet electric smoker and I was looking for rib recipes and found this site. Really great! I have always liked grilling but after looking at a few things on this site I can see I have a lot to learn. The last couple times I...
