    The little Q that could!

Been too hot to cook indoors and I didn’t want to mess with firing up the WSM. Turned on the BabyQ and cooked this two bone Rib roast with packet taters and packet green beans. Ran the pit on the lowest setting which averages about 350°f. Cooked the roast until it hit 130°f. Let it rest 30...

    Hash brown omelette

Hash brown omelette. Usually make these on the Blackstone but didn’t want to drag it out and set it up. Nice thing on the flat too is you can make a mega one and cut it smaller to serve. Still good no matter how you cook them. Using a lid helps cook the taters, eggs and for melting the cheese...

    Shwenker disc

I’ve had it set up in 35mph winds and it doesn’t move. If you push it it will but then it just goes back to where it was after a few swings and stops.

    SV Disappointing pork chops

Keep in mind that when you are SV cooking you’re trapping moisture in. That’s why it does what it does. So yes you can brine or dry brine or inject if you want but for SV it’s not necessary. ieitj The thickness you had I would suggest them at you more than likely needed more time, and or a...

    SV Disappointing pork chops

I would say it was the the cut. I’ve made some fantastic pork chops doing exactly what you did. Usually though they have been in 1 1/2” thick range. 140° 4-6 hours and uo to 8 hours a few times when I had to start them earlier and leave for the day.

    Chicken nuggets!

Yep this is a 1962. Guy used it once, put it in his closet and never used it again! I picked it up on Craigslist for $20. I replaced the generator because one of the o-rings is leaking. I just got a new o-rings so I'll have the original as a spare. We use the stove all the time even at home.

    Chicken Nuggets

I haven't made a big batch yet to try. When I do, I am going to bread them then freeze. With the hopes that I can go straight into the oven without thawing. I think if you freeze them without the breading you'd need to thaw the meat to get the breading to stick properly.

    Chicken Nuggets

I'm not even sure you'd need to double grind. But yes a grinder will work. That's actually my plan for when I do a large batch for freezing.

    Chicken Nuggets

I have a excel file that calculates the spices in grams based on the weight of the chicken you have. Not sure how to attach it here.

    Chicken Nuggets

Disclaimer: I cooked these in the oven, but with a higher temp grill you could cook these no problem. So the other day I posted a chicken nugget recipe in the dutch oven forum. https://www.smokingmeatforums.com/threads/chicken-nuggets.307526/ My wife requested that I adapt the recipe to be...

    Chicken nuggets!

Thank you! Yeah haven’t deep fried indoors for decades. Was going to pull out the discada and use it but the wind was screaming so I opted for the Coleman and the garage.

    Chicken nuggets!

If you like chicken nuggets, this recipe is a keeper. I did tweak one step. For the liquid batter I added a shot of vodka. The alcohol lightens the batter a bit and is something I do I when ever I use a liquid batter. Annalee has requested that we try and adapt this to oven baking. So I’ll be...
