...ribs are something that kicks my butt. I remember grilling these years ago and being so good but the only way I seem to be able to make tender csr is like my buddy does and boil them first! I can smoke or grill these. Here is a image of what I have:
On another note what do you do when...
I Smoked some country style ribs with Hickory. Ran them for about 2 hours and then I put em in a foil pan and braised them with Stubbs Original BBQ sauce, Honey, & a stick of unsalted butter for an hour.
Winner Winner Pork CSR Dinner!
I hope everyone has a wonderful day :)
I’m so glad I found this thread. I have a butt in the fridge that I was going to try and cut some CSR, grind some for bratwurst and make pork vegy soup with the leftovers.
Nice work especially for $45. I added an outlet right next to where I run the smoker and I think the materials cost almost that, and the battery solution is zero pain in the ass!
mAh = milli amp-hours. It is essentially the measure of a battery's power storage capacity.
Getting ready for tomorrow’s picnic with the family. Today I smoked a 4lb butt for pulled pork, CSR burnt ends, and smoked bourbon baked beans with bacon and ham. Everything was done over apple and will be served with an apple jalapeño BBQ sauce. The smoker was stuffed all day and it came out great!
Thanks! CSR's are country style ribs
Possibly, although these were over 1".
Pulled them at 137º and rested for 10-12 minutes before serving. Knew they would continue to climb in temp.
Yup, 137º but even so, and them being a tad pink, they were still not as moist as I was hoping for.
So, you...
I just did some CSR burnt ends this morning. I cube them up and dust them the night before in a ziplock bag. They do tend to pick up more of the spice opposed to applying rub the day of. The heat is good and flavorful. They came out great!
Oh I have talked to customer service many, many times. So much in fact that last year the CSR even exchanged some recipes and Christmas cards!
Let me go on record here - ThermoWorks customer service is second to none. They WILL make it right, every time. I've had my Signals unit and all of...
I usually smoke CSRs for a few of hours then braise in an disposable aluminum pan partially filled with apple cider until tender. Then back on the grill to tack up any sauce you choose to mop them with.

Great posting, Hooked on Smoke!! I always try to post and give helpful information that I know actually works from trial and error. From using a Smoke Basket and the SD Magnum P.I.G. for Pellet Grill Owners seeking greater smoke production and a better smoker flavor profile from their pellet...
These were just a cabinet filler to keep a pork butt company. I cubed up some boneless CSRs, dusted them, and let sit over night. Started the smoker on apple, got them up to 140, sauced and stirred in a bit more rub, and covered with foil. Toward the end, I removed the foil to set the bark.
The...
Thanks for the like. Burnt ends are dangerous. You pull them out, take them to the kitchen, and stand at the counter with a fork sampling. And, you can’t stop!
