This morning, over a fifth or sixth cup of coffee, I got to thinking of all the different foods and preparation methods talked about here at the Smoking Meat Forum.

I thought it would be interesting to see what your go to goodie is and if it’s unusual, maybe you could post a picture and tell us a little about the preparation.

I’ve not been at this very long so my depth of expertise is a bit shallow but, when I need a confidence boost, my go to goodie is Carolina Pulled Pork.

pork ribs, I dont know anyone who doesnt like ribs.

Plus I smoke em' pretty much every weekend so I can turn out a pretty good batch.

I have to say abt's because since I discovered them there hasn't been a smoke without them.

I put some on to be done an hour before everything else as appetizers, and the rest come out with the meal.

I really have two , Brisket hands down and chicken that will make you go damnnnnnnnnnnnnn . I once thuoght about nuying a high dollar brisket but what for ? I can cook my cheapo hand picked left handed brisket with the best of them . Espc since I started injecting them . Next I will buy Butcher's injection mix and try to improve . Practice makes headway to being pretty damn good each time .

It's funny you should say that! Until very recently, my wife was one of those oddballs in the world who didn't! That is until I presented her with this last batch of well trimmed, fall off the bone tender pig ribs!

For me go to has to be whole chickens....since I am often doing other things while the smoker cooks, the forgiving nature and wide range of temps that can be used make this a must have often. My kids love smoked curry chicken salad if we are lucky enough to have leftovers.

Kills me when I see folks buying those over-priced store roasted chickens when in just a couple hours they could have ones made at home.

Ribs, either Pork or Dino.

If the Dino's were more readily available I'd probably do them the most. Sadly when I do manage to find Dinos in the store they usually look like the crows got to them first.

Sometimes I do score some marbled meaty Dinos and then its lock out that Cat and were having Flintstone night for sure.

I voted for Pork because thats what I cook most.

For the newbs ..... Dino's = Beef ribs.

I ain't that good YET ! Not everyone knows about the left handed briskets yet do they ? But I practice all the time and like you told me practice makes perfect ! That is why I listed CHICKEN ! lmao

my most requested, by friends, is a nice piece of Salmon, actually have jewish friends from new york who want me to send em pieces via mail

my family favorite is the pulled pork sandwiches and pork fried egg rolls

my personal favorite is brisket, abt's, chicken, ribs, shrimp, turkey, fatties, chuckies, and anything i can think of

heck i'll just turn it on when i'm outside sometimes, empty, just to smell the smoke while i'm doing yardwork.

it's all good

For me, it's the PORK-U-PINE! Contrary to what Al Gore says, I invented it!!! Folks ask for it several times a year.

Two seperate things for me. My "speciality" is Dudestrami, but my go to, when I'm feeding other people and I need a for sure hit, has got to be a chuckie.
