As the title states… and I am very proud to be a redneck and live in my redneck small town.

So figured I’d start this thread if any other fellow rednecks would like to brag on their redneck town?!

Among others… when going to the transfer station… we are handed these to enter and exit!

what is a transfer station? is that a waste dump?

Yea Cliff, used to be the landfill… but now we are upscale rednecks and have a transfer station. Used to be we would just dump waste out and they would cover with dirt. Now, the transfer station has huge bins where waste is dumped. When the bin is full, it’s “transferred” out… to where… I do not know.

probably Staten Island in NY...lol

We don't get an ear tag at the local transfer station. PC Farmer beat me too the crack.
I was their twice today for garbage and recyclable.

My brother lived near Ashton. His wife said he would bring home more from the dump than he brought.

Not sure you could call what we live outside of a "town" to be honest. The speed limit does drop down to 40 mph when going through it, though. Coming from the east the speed limit is 50 mph and heading out west it bumps up to 60 mph. We have two types of folks who live here, country folk and city slickers. I much prefer the country folk, but more and more of the city slickers are moving up here. They are funny, though. Oh, forgot about the weekenders/vacation home folk. Some are good, the others are annoying. I've been call a redneck, a hick, and more than a few other assorted names that I don't think I'm aloud to put down on the site. I consider myself a Cajun Mountain Man. One thing a person needs to be living here is very self reliant. Not that your full time neighbors won't help you out, but more that you need to fix things and clear snow, cut wood, maintain you house and property, etc. Calling someone in the fix a clogged sink, etc. is big bucks. Speaking of big bucks, we have plenty of mulies, some elk, some moose, bears, bobcats, mountain lions, foxes, coyotes, rabbits, black squirrels, and plenty of various bird types.

The little town that is on our mailing address really doesn't have much. A small grocery store with a liquor store on the side, a bar/restaurant that is in a 100 year old log building, two small "fancy" type restaurants that cater to the city folks and passer throughs (over priced/small portions), a gas station/convenance store, a motorbike/ATV place, a small pharmacy, a small museum about the local area, and a post office. Few folks actually live in town, most live out and about like we do.

So, yeah, I'd say we live outside a small redneck town!

I happened to move to the most dysfunctional small town in all of Colorado.

75% of the town is addicted to meth and at least 60% is on welfare. The rest of the town is a bunch of drama queens. I do have some nice people on my street and in my neighborhood though and one of my friends is on the other side of town.

Deer Trail, CO had about 800 people when I moved here. Now it's about 2,000. We don't have a hardware store or a grocery store. Just a couple gas stations, a small bakery and a liquor store.

We have one gas station and one stop light in my closest town. I am 5 miles from there

Been through Deer Trail a few times. A guy that lived there years ago used to come up and hunt with a few of us from time to time.

You have a stoplight? 5 miles away town of maybe 200 people... hopeful the restaurant will open up soon! 2 other towns about 10 miles away, no stoplights, but a couple decent restaurants. I like country living! Thank goodness I quit smoking cigs 4 years ago... having to drive 10 miles cuz ya ran out sucked!

County seat by any chance?
County seat towns in Northern MN are littered with people claiming various disabilities and either self medicating or on a prescribed regimen of pharmaceuticals.
I would expect a dispensary in your town being a Colorado community.

No. Arapahoe County is where I'm at but the courthouse is in Centennial down the street from the Broncos Training Facility. Like 45 miles away from me.
