Not sure you could call what we live outside of a "town" to be honest. The speed limit does drop down to 40 mph when going through it, though. Coming from the east the speed limit is 50 mph and heading out west it bumps up to 60 mph. We have two types of folks who live here, country folk and city slickers. I much prefer the country folk, but more and more of the city slickers are moving up here. They are funny, though. Oh, forgot about the weekenders/vacation home folk. Some are good, the others are annoying. I've been call a redneck, a hick, and more than a few other assorted names that I don't think I'm aloud to put down on the site. I consider myself a Cajun Mountain Man. One thing a person needs to be living here is very self reliant. Not that your full time neighbors won't help you out, but more that you need to fix things and clear snow, cut wood, maintain you house and property, etc. Calling someone in the fix a clogged sink, etc. is big bucks. Speaking of big bucks, we have plenty of mulies, some elk, some moose, bears, bobcats, mountain lions, foxes, coyotes, rabbits, black squirrels, and plenty of various bird types.
The little town that is on our mailing address really doesn't have much. A small grocery store with a liquor store on the side, a bar/restaurant that is in a 100 year old log building, two small "fancy" type restaurants that cater to the city folks and passer throughs (over priced/small portions), a gas station/convenance store, a motorbike/ATV place, a small pharmacy, a small museum about the local area, and a post office. Few folks actually live in town, most live out and about like we do.
So, yeah, I'd say we live outside a small redneck town!
