Had these for while but daughters google wifi didnt like them.

So im going in with them on the house, one in front other to watch chickens out back. These are battery backup with a solar panel.

Wireless wifi, does all the rotating, up and down stuff with the other bells/whistles.

Seems interesting. I'm curious how well they work and how involved wiring up the power to them will be.
Do you have wifi repeaters/extenders around the house that can reach them?
I have a few around my house so my back porch, whole home, and garage are covered with wifi. My wireless router is a good one but the signals can only go so far from the routers, gotta have repeaters/extenders.

I've done a little looking into cameras and I prefer the PoE ones.
Downside is you do need to run an ethernet cable to them, so installation is a bit more difficult.
Upside is more reliable than WIFI, no having to change batteries.
WIFI cameras are relatively simple to install, but require changing batteries periodically.
I have no interest in climbing ladders to change batteries.

Yeah we have a wifi booster.

What brand is that? I'd like to check it out. I have power everywhere but need the wifi option. I have wifi repeaters.

I have looked at the solar powered wifi cams for my dad. He likes to watch the deer and other animals on his place. Just wonder about the range on them.

We have the Blink cameras. They’re cheap and very easy to set up and use. I have 6 outdoor cameras and 2 indoor. We only use them when out of town. The indoor cameras can be set up anywhere.

We just got back from vacation and while gone kept getting alerts due to AC unit fan. Blink app lets you block off areas as private, which put an end to the AC fan causing unnecessary alerts. The wasp building a nest just under another camera - no fix for that until we got back!

I like Wyze cams. They have ones with batteries and you can get a small solar panel for them and never need to worry about power. Or if you have 110 near by its just a USB power cord to power them. You can also put a memory card in to record all stuff locally

I use the Ring camera - Much like everyone else - Solar option, settable private zones to prevent false triggers, but I like it also merges with the smart setup in the house so I can get alerts and talk with people through the cameras via tablet or other devices throughout the house.
