Wind - How to position the smoker

What the best way to position a pellet smoker in the wind?

If it matters, I have a Traeger Pro 34.

Not being smart here, they just don't work well in the wind.

Three half sheets of plywood, hinged to form a 3 sided wind break works well. Fold and store between smokes...JJ

Going to move mine to the corner of the carport starting on the next cook, 40-60s starting this week,have a side and 1 end with walls so the south and west are stopped

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I understand that ideally, you keep it completely out of the wind.

I typically have mine under a covered patio that can block some wind.

However, if I cannot block completely, which end is best to put into the wind? Smoke stack end, pellet hopper end, diagonal, etc?

pellet hopper end in the wind. it will also block some of the wind. i have the PitBoss 700 and on the back it has the "vent" holes so i also have to make sure it is slightly turned so the wind hits it at a angle and not on the back. I also boght a old wool blanket from a garage sale i put over it to help keep the heat. In the cold weather the pellet smoker will use a lot more pellets so make sure you don't run out of pellets.
