Wildfire or arson season in Colorado has started. We now have 9 active fires burning in the state - 3 started today. When the Black Forest fire started last week, we had 3 fires start in 3 days here in Teller County - all pretty close to one another but all were contained or put out within 24 hrs. If there's a sicko or sickos out there starting them again this year, it's going to be a long season. The one setting fires here in Teller County last year was never caught.

This is how smokey it is here at my house. The closest one is the Black Forest fire and it's 95% contained so most of the smoke is coming from the others.

Saw that 3 new ones have started.  Jeepers!  If it is arson....they need to catch them...and set them on fire!  Just saying!

Sicko's......   Hang 'em all and let G-d sort 'em out....      Keep safe somehow....    Maybe this will get to your area.....   Dave

Yep 3 new ones yesterday and the smoke was so thick last night, you could barely see signal lights etc. and you could smell it, taste it, eyes burning and breathing was an option!

Dave, we're getting wind from that but no moisture in the forecast.

Darn that pesky Ikea sign!!!! LOL

I live in Trinidad and where I work is right on the edge of a pre-evac area. This is scary stuff! The East Peak fire is 10 miles away. And there's a big one 35 miles to the south of us in Cimarron, NM. We sure do need moisture:(

You be safe...they are scary and unpredictable in this goofy hot windy weather. We couldn't even see Pikes Peak for the past 2 nights due to all the smoke blowing in. We evacuated last year durig the Waldo Canyon fire, I really don't want to do that again.

That's exactly what it looks like here too. Fire red sunsets and sunrises from all the particulates in the air. We were sitting outside last evening and when I picked my phone up to go inside, it was covered in a thin fine film of ash. Yuck!

Normally I can see Pikes Peak in all its glory, but for the past 3 evenings it has been completely shrouded in smoke from the fires but weather info says primarily from the West Fork Complex fire over near Pagosa Springs/Wolf Creek Pass. The desert winds are blowing it right up to us.

No rain in our forecast for at least the next 13 days. And I did see we have 15 active fires burning here now.
