Far west burbs of Chicago
Hey everybody!  I've been lurking off and on for a while, and finally decided to join.

A little about myself...

My name is Kurt (as if you could not figure that out from my user name).

I live in the far west suburbs of Chicago (Elgin Area).

I am an avid home brewer making my own beer, mead, and hard cider.  Well, I haven't made any mead yet, but that is scheduled to happen in a few weeks.

I have been smoking foods for a couple of years after my wife finally gave in and let me purchase a smoker.  It is a basic two door "box" that I haven't done any real modifications to.  I don't remember the brand, but it claimed to be able to use both charcoal or propane, though I normally run it on propane for the convenience.

I primarily like to cook pulled pork and ribs, but I have done some fish, veggies, and a couple of briskets.

Hello and welcome from East Texas. This is a great site, lots of information and great people that are willing to throw in their two cents worth on about anything.
