Which MES to Buy?

I am selling my Camp Chef Woodwind due to storage issues and am going back to a MES.
Since my friend Bearcarver passed (I miss you pal) I cannot ask his advice as to which one to buy.

Can anyone steer me in the right direction as to which model is the most reliable?

John , not sure if you looked this over already . He liked the Gen 2.5 40 with the top vent on the left side TOP of the smoker .
The Gen 1 was in second place , top vent on the right side TOP .
Gen 2 had the vent on the left SIDE , not the top . I don't think it had the draw like the top vented smokers do . Been thinking about Bear myself lately . Left to soon .

Gen1-40, if you are willing to do some mods.

I don’t remember all the differences but around defiantly go with the 40”. I had a couple of 30’s and it sucked having to cut ribs to get them to fit

Thanks for the responses guys. . .I guess I will have to take a look at what MESs are available presently at the big box stores and do some research. Kind of hard to find decent product reviews.

If you're interested , see what's available second hand . With the thought of adding an Auber controller . Probably come out less money and an awesome smoker .
Just stay with a Gen 1 or the 2.5 . No sidewall vent .
