I've read a lot of posts braging about the Maverick #732 wireless thermometer!  I see that they offer a #733 also, with two meat probes.  I believe the #732 has one meat and one smoker probe?  Has anyone had experience with both??  I have a MES 30, and would like to verify its temperatures, and my 30" doesn't have a wireless remote control.

I have both models and they are both very good. The main practical difference between the two is that with the 732 the probe uses are fixed (one is a meat probe and the other is a chamber probe) whereas with the 733 both probes can be configured to be either meat or chamber. I use both types regularly and I find that in almost all of my smokes I only use one meat and one chamber probe. I also see no difference in connectivity distance for the remote units.

The choice really is yours and either model will do a great job. If price is the driver then the 732 is the one to go for but if you think that at some point you are going to require 2 x meat probes or 2 x chamber probes at the same time then it would be the 733.

The 733 does give you more flexibility with the probes and also has some preset meat cooking temperatures already configured on it. It is also a later model than the 732. If the higher price is not an issue with the 733 then the 733 is probably the one to go for but if you do decide on the 732 then you will not be disappointed either.

They both have only two probes and two inputs. The difference is with the 732 there is a Meat specific probe and a BBQ/Smoker temp specific probe. The 733 has two Hybrid Probes that are usable in either meat or to monitor smoker temp. The 733 has more bells and whistles including preset alarms for meat doneness. Other than that, they are pretty much the same...JJ

Wade types faster than me!...

How about this for a rock in the cog. I use the iGrill2. Four probes (comes with 2 meat probes). I have three meat probes and 2 pit probes (yes I know I can only use 4 at a time). There are times I monitor two pits and two meats or one pit and three meats. Typically I am
Monitoring one pit and one to two meats. Works great and so far my favorite therm.

I also have the Mav 732, bought prior to the iGrill original i bought and the iGrill2.

I used both last weekend when cooking a bird in the oven and the smoker. Used the iGrill2 for the smoker
And the Mav for the oven.

Both work well, but the iGrill2 is my go to therm.

A friend of mine has an iGrill2 and it is a good thermometer and the logging feature is good. The Bluetooth range is quite variable though and distance differs greatly with different remote devices. At close range it was good but in my garden the range would not be sufficient. Still, certainly one to consider.
