So we moved a month ago and the freezer worked fine. Thursday we were having a fridge delivered and I emptied the old fridge freezer to the chest freezer and packed full. I went down yesterday Friday and things were starting to thaw and freaked out. All items were cold still and threw items out but kept some to grill today. I still have few king mackeral cuts that I'm going to smoke monday after brining tomorrow and a chicken for Tuesday that was frozen yet.

Let's say I got lucky when checking it yesterday.

I did shrimp and threw them in garlic hot sauce, red hot, and lemon juice them stuck them and grilled after everything else was done. My wife found out last year she had allergies to shellfish and can't eat them anymore. Was a big deal because she loved shrimp and lobster.

Dang, man that really sucks when you lose a freezer like that.

You did get lucky though, in that you caught it in time.

Through my own stupidity I lost a whole freezer full of good

things to smoke.

I was working on something else and shut off the wrong breaker.

On a brighter note, your dog looks happy about it.

I did the same damn thing! I was putting my shop vac away and unplugged the wrong chord. Caught it a week later and had to throw roughly $1000 worth of meat. Happy grilling!!

Man that's too bad!

Good thing you caught it in time.

Tell your wife that the allergy may go away in a couple of years.

Several years ago I was told the same thing. I was violently allergic to shellfish.

I eat it all the time now. I guess with time away from it my body lost the allergic reaction to it.

Thanks Al. She will be told that but getting her to try it might be hard.

Good timing...

Looks like your little helper, in the first image, will be extra HAPPY for a while...
Yes he could smell the chicken that's what he was waiting on. His favorite and he knows when it's out to be smoked or grilled.

Damn Lance! That's a shame bet from now on you have a dedicated plug for the shop vac so it don't happen again?

If you screwed up?  Chances are I have done it!  Came home from the rifle range a couple years ago and threw my canvas type cooler against the wall. Week later went to the freezer and meat was thawed.  The cooler had knocked the plug just loose enough to cut power.  $500 lesson.

Earlier, a success story.  Old lady had a corned beef point in the crock pot when the power went out.  Checked the IT and the meat was 145.  Fired up the smoker.  Great meal with leftovers.

Good luck and good smoking.
