My camera is around when I smoke. Had people over on valentines day and I am sure they were wondering what I was going. I long ago gave up caring on what others think lol. The bottom line is they loved the food lol

i've always been into photography so for me it is natural as well as having to do tutorials and picture books for my staff.

Having my camera ready while cooking is not a "natural" thing for me...yet! I have to remember to grab it and take pics, but i am remembering it more and more. It has been helpful to have pics along the way to have something to compare to.

Yes, I actually have a few laying around. Someday I'll get a camcorder and torture yall.

I like having my own wallpaper for my computer. It is very interesting what you will come across in this walk of life. I think capturing images to admire later is a good thing. To answer your question, I have just joined this forum & I did not think twice about taking pictures of my work. I want feed back, criticism and / or praise & admiration. Either way, I think it is so great to have a great group of guys to admire your work, talk to, joke with, share information with or extract information from & still manage to eat as well. It is fun & is a learning experience for me. There is a lot of knowledge on the net, a lot of it right here in this forum & if taking pictures allows me to experience a part of that, then I am all for it. Do I always have the camera around when I am cooking / smoking? Ever since I joined this forum, it has hung around my neck.

My wife is going to start taking my pictures for me so I don't have to stop & wash my hands all the time in between food prep & post meat prep. (Isn't she a blessing to partake in my hobby? And she is so happy with the results so far.)

Of course she thinks we are all crazy but I explained it to her; we could be posting porn & talking about divorces & younger women in here. Make a choice. Tomorrow, she is buying me my own 4GB San Disk memory card to store my own pictures. I guess the meat wins.

If I dont have my camera there is the cam in the cell phone which is really nice. If that fails I have used the cam built into my laptop.

All depends on what I am cooking. Fortunately, my family and friends know of this little obsession so they put up with it.
I have been known to take pics in a resturant....

I never take pictures.

I am trying to get better about taking photos of what I cook. Many times, it's just a quick meal that I'm doing, or it's something that I've already photographed, but my main problem has always been remembering to get the camera when the food is ready to EAT. I get so excited I forget to take a photo of the finished product before it's gone.

I too, have a food blog site and try to keep it populated with pics. So that's more motivation to me. And in trying to put together a recipe book, I need at least a few pics to put in there. Self-publishing is alot of work I'm learning. LOL

As I stated earlier I don't take pics all the time. However one shouldn't be surprised that when you start a post on this site about something you made that day and you have no accompanying qview that people are going to ask you "where's the qview"? It's just the nature of this site as qview is a big part of what goes on here.

good point.

I take pics & start posting them from the prep til the finish, so good or bad it gets posted(luckily its all been good).

I also lug my camera when I go go out to eat at different places(ethnic, steak, seafood, etc.), not for posting here, but on other food sites.
