What is everybody cooking for the first college football Saturday?

I'm thinking of going with wings and smoked bacon wrapped meatballs, and of course beer.

Happy Football Season

Nothing here, I'm waiting for Monday.

Maybe throw some Hot Italian sausage on the grill on Saturday!

Plenty of beer though!

Football??? I'm going to be busy painting my house too. But there will be beer involved.

The best laid plans are only good until put into action.

My wife and MiL just called, they're at Costco in the meat Dept.
I was told what they decided, nevermind the menu posted on the refrigerator by the chef de cuisine.

By popular demand, the good'ol family favorite, Grilled Chicken Thighs and Conecuh Sausage will be served.

And they bought a two-pack of Boston Butts.
Their... Suggestions... Were for me to cut one into CSRs and smoke the other for PP.

If one butt is big enough I can cut enough CSRs for everyone, and still have enough left to cube some for the Guisado de Puerco con Tomatillos.

Mee too. I got 12 lbs going in Sunday, remnants of Harvey are due to rain on us here in the mid-atlantic on Saturday.
I think I'm going for a smaller loin.  Probably 5-6 lbs.  Rain from Harvey should be out of our area by mid morning on Saturday.

I don't care what you do....but Guisado de Puerco con Tomatillos has got to happen and I want pics and the recipe!  I looked it up and it sounds amazing!

) we made 15 lbs of Cracked pepper and Garlic summer sausage. In the fridge until tomorrow and in a smoker,

Saturday we are doing a 14# Boneless Rib on the smoker to feed the boys that one of our  Service guys picked up...... Should be a decent weekend other than a very unfortunate no BEER situation being at work..... Oh well the boys will eat good....
