For me, it was Primus on New Year's Eve. at the Fox theater in Oakland CA.

It takes a lot for me to journey into Oakland/ the Ghetto, but to see another Primus New YRS Eve show was worth it. And the Fox is the coolest venue, I've ever been to, it's an amazing venue.

What was your last show?

Primus would be a great show. Here lately the wife and I have been hitting the small venues so we see several every couple of months, I think the last was Sierra Ferrel or Brothers Comatose

We rode BART, which is a public transit electric train that runs all over the Bay Area. It let us off about 500 yards from the door of the Fox. Getting there was nice, no problems at all, leaving at 12:30AM was a whole different story.
It sounded like we stepped into Fallujah. My head was on a swivel, watching over my wife, at one point automatic weapons were sounding off like it was Chinese New Yrs. My wife thought it was fireworks, I told her if she heard anything louder than the last burst, to "HIT THE F'N DECK" and assured her that I was not joking. It was bad, and my fault for putting us in that situation, I knew better than that, I don't know what I was thinking. We made it onto the train, and sat next to an older couple, our age I guess, and we talked about how stupid we were for going into Oakland on New Yrs eve. Honestly one of the dumbest things I have done in many years, just glad it worked out for us.
It was a great show, but I wouldn't do it again, not worth dying for a concert.

We laugh about it now, but it really hit me when we got home.
That place is so freak'in ghetto, we are way to pale to be in Oakland at 12:30 AM on any night, never again!!!

The Fox Theater is a mid size venue, it holds about 2000, we scored great seats for $90 for both my wife and me. I've seen them a bunch of times in tiny places to huge outdoor arenas. Les Claypool lives about 40 miles from me, he owns a little Hotdog stand, that sells great local beers and wine. We saw him play there last yr, and it was insanely good. I got to check out his Bass in hand, he was super easy to talk too, and laid back, prob stoned. LOL!!!

Talk about a badass Bass guitar, I wanted to run away with it, but I'm fat and slow these days. LOL!!!

Where?
She rips on that Teli, the first time I heard her play I thought she was for sure playing a B bender. If you don't know what a B bender is, google it, they are pretty sweet guitars.

Small venue here in OKC, Tower Theatre. Second time I've seen her. Great show.

Been so long I can't say with certainty, but it was either Jimmy Buffet at the Virginia Beach amphitheater somewhere around 2009-2010 or Steve Miller at the Intelos amphitheater in Portsmouth... I think that was 09. That one sticks out because Les Paul had just died the day or maybe two before the concert, and Steve paid quite a tribute as Les was his godfather if memory serves me.

Too old and too anti-crowd to enjoy concerts the way I used to. Last one we attended was over 15 years ago. The Eagles on their Long Road Out of Eden tour. Don't remember exact year...probably 2008 or 2009. Great concert for an old Eagles fan! I had seen them once before, back in '79 or '80, on their Long Run tour. It was cool that thirty-odd years later they were still putting on a great show. Wouldn't be the same now since Glen Frey passed.

They're still putting on a great show. Vince Gill has joined them and is maybe the star. I would like to go see them but ticket prices are through the roof. Nose bleed in an arena go for $500 each.

And they've been at The Sphere in Las Vegas, I think Sept to Dec. That venue is amazing, I can't describe, just Google.

You ain't lyin' about ticket prices! It's gotten where average folks can't justify what it would cost for a couple to attend. I'm not exactly poor, but the idea of spending a thousand dollars to take my wife to a concert makes it easy to decide to stay home...

I've watched a couple performances on TV or online since Vince Gill joined them - you're right...he's good! But it's just not the same without Frey.

I haven't been in Vegas since the Spere opened...but I did know that The Eagles were playing there. That'd be an amazing experience for sure!

Last one we hit, I think was Randy Travis in Loveland CO. But one of the funnest was Rock Jam 2004 in Grand Junction. I believe I was 17 at the time. Bands that played were Joan Jett, ZZ top, Eddie Money, 38 special, blue oyster cult & a few others. It was a 4 day event. It got a little wild lol.
