What type of trees are good for smoking???

The reason I ask is that my parents have like 15 fruit trees in their backyard. They have apple, plum, peach, pear, etc. I know apple is good but I hardly ever hear anyone talk about the others. Anyone ever use the types mentioned above?
I'll have to tell my dad to save all trimmings and downed limbs for me.

YES!! Any hardwood or fruit tree is good. Just make sure it is dry before you cook with it.
