I have none myself, guess I'm getting cancer soon since I eat it 4 times a week or more. I love BBQ, so what else is new. Coffee is bad, booze is bad, red meat is bad, yada yada. Gotta go from something, so I will add this to my list of cigars, and booze, and no exercise.

What do you think about this?

I think someone needs to call NaturalNews.com, the editor and the writer to mat on this one by just asking where is the proof BBQ and/or smoked meats cause cancer? Show me scientific studies that have been done like those that have been done on tobacco.

As I honestly have never heard of this claim before.....

AAAHhhhhh. I can not let myself get worked up. There are idiots all over this country and this one found a place where he could vent. Probably a peta member. You know what, so what, what if it does. What the hell doesnt? Eating eggs are bad, then their good for you, then theres no data to go either way. Remember that debate years ago. Your gonna die, you might get taken out tomorrow by idiot running a red light. All these damm chicken littles in the world now, screaming the sky is fallen. Im so frikin PO I cant even type, I keep hitting the delete bar to go back and correct. Ill tell ya what does cause cancer, living in California. You ever read that back of seems like anything these day. WARNING, Use of this product has been known to cause cancer in the state of California. There, I have vented. Im going to have a nice glass of wine or two and forget about this post before I blow an o-ring. Just remember, dont beleive everything someone tells ya. I remember what my mom told me when I was young, and I ain't gone blind yet.

I had rather die from eating BBQ than say a car wreck. And by the way I smoke Marlboro Lights not little pink ciggarettes so I will not attend his fundraiser.

well let me say this, this so called "natural News", is bashing everything from this BBQ, to pink ribbons etc. and using the ploy that these things have a small element to them that they are related to causing cancer. well they maybe should ck into themselves. to be touting these claims in that fashion, lets look at "Natural News". they run a website wich is looked at millions of people on there pc's, not to mention the computers used to create and manage there website. lets analyse the make up of a typical pc.http://ireprint.info/article999.html
so they are not innocent either. i hope this someway filters back to them.

and either way, a bbq meal, i dont think is the make or break point. but the money raised i am sure the american cancer society would be truley greateful for the contribution. JMHO

I now know to stay away from pink ribbons because they cause cancer

Not sure of BBQ/cancer link but the "hard liquor buffet " in the article sounds pretty good to me!

I agreed because I personally beleive just being alive causes cancer, sure some personal choices may increase the chance but if you live long enough you are probably going to get cancer, many people die each year of other things and its only found out they have cancer after the fact as its often asymptomatic for decades. This computer, the overhead lights, the cell phone in my pocket are all giving me cancer right now.
I like how some of his own sheep called him out and said if charred meat is killing us how did we evolve? its been suggested that at least 300,000-400,000 years ago man started cooking the stuff he ran down and killed but the use of fire by humanoids is still debated at 1,000,000 years ago so I bet it didn't take 700,000 years to learn to cook something up.

Im just glad they didnt say beer is bad for ya. I was startin to worry...

And like I always say, "If the food I eat is gonna kill me then at least let me die with a full stomach." My Dr. loves that one...

Ron , in all seriousness , I'd take that sight with a grain of salt.

And a smoked brisket

Side of bacon

twice smoked taters

well you get the idea

I do believe me.

Oh i just feel compelled to comment as a board certified environmental physician.

I eat smoked meat!

Yes to much red meat does increase your risk of colon cancer only, but so do many other things. Yes there are polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in char, that are linked to cancer and other autoimmune diseases.

There are so many other things in our environment in such larger quantities that we all should worry about. Most things that come out of a spray can have these polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in them for example.

Just remember everything in moderation, yes including vegetables and exercise

, is probably just fine.

Hey Ron, good one here...

Sorry, Natural News, BS is cheap, but I aint buyin' any.

Anything in moderation is relatively safe/OK...when you throw things off balance (balance is the key), then you will eventually suffer the consequences of your actions.

I've seen folks get terminal illnesses of a wide variety, and most of these people were considered to have healthy lifestyles, good eating habits and got regular excersize...it didn't help them, though. Genetics plays a big role, and you can't change it, so sit back and enjoy life while you're still walking the planet...maybe I'll go have a smoke and a beer now!!! LOL!!!

Eric

lets face it, anythin done in moderation is fine. ya know how much stuff they jam down them critters, average person would puke first. ya can skew the questions ta get the answer ya want. this bunch sounds like there fruit cakes.

thank you werdwolf,as what I figgured all along.seems alot of sheeple at the natural news-smoked muttun?
