So at the crisp young age of 37 I have found the art of smoking meats. I'm new to it and learning more every day.
I recently upgraded (in my humble opinion) from a pellet smoker to an offset smoker. I'm probably going to spend more time reading threads and taking notes before making another post, but I have read plenty on here already to convince me to sign up. Now I'm going to soak up all the knowledge I can before start smoking again this weekend.

Hello, glad you found us and the desire to eat tasty meat at a young age. Your family will appreciate the effort.

Welcome to SMF! We all started at the beginning too so please don't be afraid to ask questions.

Welcome to your new addiction (both, the forums and cooking/smoking meat) from Fl. ..

What kind of offset did you get ?? And as you may have noticed, We do like pics... Have any of your new smoker ??

Thank you for the warm and inviting welcome! I didn't not expect such an active board in the social media age we live in now. I can already tell I'm going to like it here.

It's a "new to me" char-broiler. Its rough around the the edges but I've doctored it up decently. I have used it every weekend all summer so far and it doesn't look like I'm going to be quitting anytime soon. I've been browsing some new ones. I keep coming back to the Oklahoma Joes Hondo and Old Country Wrangler Smoker. But this is still the early stages of me shopping for a new one so I'm open to suggestions.

Full context, I was recently an auto enthusiast with my detached garage full of racing stuff and motorcycles, but I got burnt out so I sold everything and have begun turning that garage into my man cave and grilling and smoking area. I have a list of things to buy and upgrade. I will post some pictures today after work if you guys are interested.

Welcome from California. Lots to learn in the smoking field, but if your smoking every weekend, you'll be catching up fast.
