Bought a Craftsman GT 50 24HP in 97. Sales guy at sears ask me if I wanted to get the bumper for the front. Nah I shouldn't need it. He ask me you sure it's only 30.00
Second or third time I used it drove it straight into a tree hard. Thought I was in reverse. I should've listened to the ole guy LoL
Still use the mower but I bought a Scag Cheetah last year to cut my mowing time down

40+ years ago this young buck got s job as a construction laborer for a general contractor. The job was do whatever the Supervisor told you to do. I had to clean up these long 2×6's that were nailed together for long prop boards. I was making good $$ so I bought myself a true temper claw hammer with a fiberglass shaft.

We were using a radial arm saw to cut the 2×6's into manageable lengths. Well wouldn't you know it. I was cutting the wood and sparks began to fly. It wasn't a nail it was my brand new hammer that was under the wood board. It sliced about 1/4 of the way through the shaft and cut a kerf wide slit in the claw.

Amazing thing is I still have that hammer today! Just taped and glued the shaft to prevent splintering.

And yes the super deducted the cost of the saw blade I ruined.

LOL

My John Deere is my baby. Yeah. Just a garden tractor. But wanted one for as long as I can remember. I had it for three years. Only 22 hours on it. Today, I got home and figued I'd cut the grass. Going around the backyard. I decided to use the cruise control. Only the second time I have.
Got near the deck. And without thinking hit the go pedal instead of the brake. S%!T!!!!!!

Got lucky I guess. Cracked the bumper cover. Lesson learned. If I hadn't been using cruise. This wouldn't have happened. And to add insult to injury. Ann was looking out the window when I did this!
I use a Luba robot mower on my yard and sit by the smoker while it mows.
