ALLRIGHT would love to see how many of you guys are chefs  and how many are weekend warriers

me  i am just a weekend guy who likes to keep all the kids hanging aroung at my house and not out somewhere else getting in trouble

what do you think the ratio is 50 / 50?

I ran a BBQ joint from 1978-1981. After that it's been no pressure leisure smoking / grilling.

This going to be hard to sort out if you been guessing like I have.  Fact is, I've had you and a couple of others figured for "pros" or in your words "chef's".  I confess, I'm just a weekly warrior.  I don't limit myself to the weekends (being retired has that advantage), but by no means do I consider myself a pro.  Just another Joe trying to bring light to the darkness, in my small way.  I really do appreciate the inputs we receive from the chefs.  Keeps us on the safe path, always a good thing.

I don't consider myself a chef but the weekend warrior ended about 6 mths after I built my smoker.  Everyone, including the wife, would rather eat my smoke than mom's/wifes cookin.  It's pretty much a daily thing unless I over due it and we have left overs.

The other day I didn't feel like smokin and told the wife. She went into the kitchen and bout crapped when she saw all the spices in the cupboard.  Then she was just standing there sorta in a daze. I asked her what's wrong and she mumbled something to the affect that  she forgot how to cook. LOL

sorry for those not in the construction biz   the weekend warrier is like a slang term for those who do our construction jobs on thier own on the weekend   or the workers who do work without permits "on the side"

Ain't no chef.  Do a fair bit a caterin an events along with some cash an carry sales.

Ain't no chefs in the bbq world far as I'm concerned, pitmasters yes, chefs er fer that fancy stuff an bbq ain't spoused ta be fancy.  Just my opinion course.

Not a chef - have done a some catering in the past and still somehow get hooked into doing large rehersal dinners for friends and family.  Just love food - enjoy cooking it and eating it

Chef Rob will have something  smart to say here I am sure LOL

Pro chef with 32 years of cooking.  All genre, any style... but I started in Penna curing meats and making sausage with the Pollocks and the Penna Dutch.

I'm a weekend or weekday warrior when ever I feel like firing up the smoker for friends and or family its one of the perks of retirement

I'm a weekday and weekend warrior, and sometimes after leaving a meat sale, I'm a soldier in the war of poverty.

iv'e been in the biz for 'round 30yrs.......still learning and havig fun. btw - "chefs" don't always cook the best food..........

Can't afford to smoke every weekend, but I'm more of a Thomas Edison Disciple... (you never see the 2,000 things that didn't work, lol!
