It's been a while, so I wanted to do a "catching up" post inspired by tx smoker tx smoker and one of his amazing recent posts.
Once the new year rolled around, I realized I had quite a bit of meat in the freezer and the week off work. I decided I would start the year off right with a marathon week of cooking. I posted a couple of these cooks a few weeks back (shrimp/crab boil, deer heart) but went ahead and included them here too. It was a great week of cooking and eating

Thanks for looking!

Monday (Seared deer heart as an appetizer, picanha steaks for dinner):

Wow what a week! The bark on your brisket just pops off the page. Had to be done on a stick burner I would imagine?

Thanks TX Cookin. Yes you are correct, that is done on an offset smoker. I looove a good bark and nothing does bark quite like a stick burner

Jeez Tyler, you went full tilt that week!! Some amazing looking food. I gotta let you know though, if you cook birthday meals like that, I'm up for adoption and my birthday is next week :emoji_wink: Very nice looking spread of food, that's for sure.

Robert

You have been a busy man, but productive. It all looks very good...
Thanks Charles. It's all fun for me and the end result is smiles and full bellies from my family. Totally worth it
A bunch of good lookin food ! The crab boil caught my eye . Never had it , and it always looks so good .
Thanks chopsaw! I highly suggest you give the boil a try should you ever have the opportunity. Delicious!

I envy you Tyler. My family is scattered all over the country and it's pretty much impossible for all of us to get together. Make the best of it now my friend because the kids will be grown and gone before you know it.

Lol thanks Robert. That's an honor coming from you. And you are welcome here anytime, birthday or not. Next week is your birthday? Any special cook planned? If what you post on a regular basis is any indication, your birthday meal will be something special.

Yes sir, will do. I am blessed indeed. All of my family is pretty much within a few hours of where I live and I try not to take that for granted. And the kids, man they grow fast....

Thank you sir! We certainly ate well that week. I'm still carrying around a few pounds around the waist in tribute lol

Thank you Buckeyedude Buckeyedude . My wife gave me that cutting board for Father's day a couple of years ago. I love that thing and her for giving it to me lol
Those are some really good looking meals Tyler.

Point for sure
Chris
Thank you Chris! I appreciate the like and comment
Man next time you plan a week like that let me know!! What an amazing collection of cooking. I still need to try heart.
Thanks brother, will do! Try heart as soon as you get a chance, you won't be disappointed
Wow what a week of meals Tyler!
Everything looks great and love the color of the brisket!!

Keith
Appreciate that Keith. For some reason I didn't get as much of a pronounced smoke ring on this one as I normally do. Not really important, but at the same time, it is to me because I'm all about the visual. Still tasted damn good though
That's one very awesome week...nicely done!

Red
Thanks Red!

I think I just got the meat sweats... great looking meals! The words of the week... stretchy pants!
