Walmart beef ribs

I have seen videos and pictures of beef ribs or dinosaur ribs before. Walmart sells beef ribs that are vacuum sealed. My question is they look very thin in the package. Has anyone tried these? If im going to try and smoke beef ribs i would rather have some meaty ones. Thanks.

They are not the same. Tastes good but not much meat

Not uncommon. Rib Eye Roasts sell better than on the bone. The Packers cut the Rib Eye close to the bone to get the most weight at the premium price. There is still some meat between the bones but not much. They are sold as Beef Back Ribs. It's tasty meat but you need a lot to feed a family. A man or teen age boy could easily clean 4-6 rib bones and stare down Mom for her's. Go Low and Slow for tender or Hot if you don't mind a bit of a Jaw Workout...JJ

I made some yesterday. This is about as meaty as it gets. Flavor is great though.

As JJ said the premium meat is the main deal here your ribs are more or less a by product. But they are mighty tasty as you have found out.

Also called Shiners, cause the bones shine through.
Yes, very little meat, you're buying bones.

I'd rather forego these and save my BBQ budget till I can afford a few racks of good chuck ribs or plate ribs.

Plate ribs are the real Dino ribs.
Chucks are a close second, and are my preference for price and availability.

My stepdad is a meat cutter. His store doesn't actually sell these but employees get them cheap. I got 12 4 bone sections for about $1. For that price I jump all over it but it's not something I go out of my way to buy.
