I'm still playing Ifsunsets on Steam. It's beta state early access but it's addictive as heck. I'm keeping my eye on the remastered ES Oblivion for a sale price.

Is that the IfSunSets: Prologue that is free right now?
I played the prologue long enough to go ahead and buy it. Try it out! As early access it's only part of the zones up now and there are bugs but I've played it for weeks and enjoy it. I'm not usually big on the survival games but love it. Note that your progress in the prologue does not carry over to the full version so if you like it go ahead and buy before prologue finishes. I play single player my own world. If you try it you will have questions, hit me up and also join their discord. Lots of help there

I guess there is several? What do you recommend starting with?
Half life was the original . I think it's called Half life : source now .
Half Life 2
Opposing force is played from the view of one of the Marines
Blue shift is played from the view of Barney the Cop / guard .
They had several online mods , that are played online only as FPS .

I always used a the keyboard and mouse , but I think you have to go into the Steam settings and enable controller . Turn on all controller types it shows there .

I'm not at the machine with Steam on it , but when I get a chance I'll take a look .

I'm a diehard keyboard and mouse gamer. I remap a lot of key bindings because of being left handed.

I swapped controllers this morning to charge and my other one works. I did disable steam input which sometimes works. I have several games the the controller will not work. I am a controller guy. I had looked for a steam controller as they suppose to work on these games but looks like they dont make them anymore.

Edit: Well after quitting game and going back it no longer works. Oh well I tried.

Did you go into the Steam settings ? Choose " controller " and enable all the choices ?
Here's a screenshot ,

Starting the game from Steam . To the far right of the green launch button
you can see 3 icons .

Looks like this zoomed in . Should be a controller icon in there
if it sees one .

Yeah I tried all on and off yesterday. It does show controller but also says not supported. I have several games like this that I bought but at least they where cheap. I sometimes wonder if maybe it seeing it as controller 2 though game tester says its one? I always switch the input off for the controller I not using. I got a refund on Arma 3 yesterday because controller was useless. I sit in recliner and play games from Tv. Think it would be hard with keyboard and mouse and really have no desire to learn.

So after spending couple hours last couple days trying get controller to work I decided to roll the dice and just buy it. i was playing Demo. The paid version seems to be working. I think I getting near the end of Black Mesa and really liked that game.

Well now you got me playing Half life 2 again , which I don't have time for . Lol .
Finally got Steam all updated and went into the game configs .
If it keeps working that's great but if it stops again ,
You should be able to make that controller work so you can at least play the game .
This is in the options of the game itself . Choose gamepad .
Then on the bottom right enable that tab .

Wow, I can't believe this thread is still going after so long!
Like Brian, I'm having trouble finding new games that I'll like and I refuse to pay what most of them cost, so I've been replaying older games (Mass Effects Andromeda and Legendary Edition, Elder Scrolls Skyrim, AC Odyssey). Driving a PS5.
I did pick up Elder Scrolls Oblivian "Remastered" a couple of weeks ago ($49.95 on Playstation Plus) and other than being buggy as all getout and randomly crashing now and then it's OK....
I keep reading about a new Witcher that's supposed to be coming and I'll be looking at reviews of AC Shadows. Whatever the reviews say I won't be paying full price....
If you want an entertaining change of pace I recommend "Stellar Blade". You play as a very attractive young lady who uses spinal implants instead of armor, so she can fight boss battles in skimpy attire. It's a lighthearted hoot, but it's a serious combat and parkour game and I couldn't finish because I couldn't beat the final boss! After I get tired of ES Oblivian I may replay it....
