Hello guys!

I'm new here, just got my first semi decent charcoal/wood offset smoker. But I've immediately thought about making it more versatile and I know this question might be a little bit far from the smokers basic intention.
But I was wondering did anyone managed to get some removable gas burners into main chamber for the times when you don't want to burn coal or wood when used as normal grill?
My main concern is where to put venturi valve would be OK if it's inside, enough oxygen?
Did anyone tried this?

*Also I didn't know in which subforum should I post wood/charcoal/ or propane so I've put it here in general discussion.

Maybe I should just repost this in some of equipment sub-forums.

I think your idea is interesting and could definitely add versatility for grilling without needing to burn coal or wood. As for the venturi valve, it’s crucial to ensure it has enough oxygen for combustion, so placing it inside the main chamber could work, but you'd need to make sure there’s proper airflow and venting for safety and efficient operation. It's definitely worth exploring, but I’d recommend consulting with experts who have experience modifying smokers.
