  1. Excited to be a part of the forum.

I live in Jacksonville, FL in the Mandarin suburb.

I built an outdoor kitchen recently with a replica of the Wilber D Hogg smoker I found online: http://www.ibiblio.org/lineback/bbq/sid.htm. Below is a picture of the first smoke.

I love the process - splitting the wood, prepping the food, starting the fires, waiting/drinking, and finally enjoying the food. Luckily, I have a very supporting wife and dog who both enjoy the results!

Nice job.  I looked at that site thinking I was going to build a replica on my backyard.  I eventually decided to change things around in the yard and bought a GOSM instead but I really liked the idea of a brick smoker.

    Welcome.

First off welcome to SMF there Adam. I'm out on the northside near the airport. You'll really like this place for there are a bunch of really good folks here that would just love to help you with just about anything to do with smoking meat. Then if you have any questions you just post them here or yu can try in chat for a faster answer. If you are really new to all of this I would recommend that you look up and take the e-course. It is free and it will also give you the basics on smoking. So with all that said now go and get something to smoke.
