Anyone having any success at all or is this fully dead as we think it is.

Also, Tom Thumb in DFW area has Prim briskets $2.97/lb and $9.99/lb large Japanese scallops and $19.99/lb king crab legs at the seafood counter :D
Oh and $1.97/lb boneless skinless chicken breast at the meat counter.

I love how there are never people in Tom Thumb stores and their meat and produce is good quality :D

I'm still finding some that work, the ones that are restricted to just Fred Meyers work in mine up here even when I don't have them in local adds or the lower 48 coupons are much better then up here.

82009 King Soopers has $5.99 Ribeye only in King Soopers or City Market, not sure where all those are.

85033 Fry's has $5.77 Ribeye only at Fry's.

Kroger 77304 has Heritage Farms Chicken for $2.29/lb and Hillshire Farm Sausage for $2.99. Not great, but it is something.

Maybe this merger will go through and help us out.

Only if by "us" you mean shareholders, not customers. Executives on both sides have already been touting the merger plan in quarterly reports as a way to extract more value (i.e., making customers spend more for less). Company to regulators: "Every other company merger that has ever looked like this turned out bad for consumers, but *this time* will be different, we promise!"

During mergers things like policing coupon clips may fall the the wayside. IT and data will have to merge . We may benefit from it or not.

When Albertsons acquired Tom Thumb it was a good thing because they wanted to adopt that brand, rewards, look, and store presence mentality even though Albersons was bigger.

I have a strong feeling that Kroger would want to Kroger-ize the Albertsons properties BUT it would be awesome if they kept the Tom Thumbs and Market Streets the way they are and just diversified but I think they would merge the rewards program into the Kroger rewards program.

There is no telling which way it would shake it if they can work the acquisition past the government barriers, but I have a feeling it's going to bring down my beloved Tom Thumb chain of stores vs uplift it. We'll see :D

It's been my experience over 63 years, that change is rarely for the better.

^ Why doesn't this surprise me?

But, they will receive nothing more than a slap on the wrist.
As usual.

There might be some feather ruffling in Congress, and they might spend a few million for a panel to look into it. But you're right. In the end, nothing will happen.

My wife and I decided the Walmart is only 1/2 mile up the road.
Much better than driving clear across town to the Kroger.

While our Boost membership lasts, we are going to take advantage of their sales and digital coupons and then make them deliver for free.
We could buy 4 jars of Sir Kensington mayo and be over the minimum delivery charge.
(insert evil laugh here)

I haven't bought meat in months since TX had their digital blast.. 3 briskets, 3 butts, five slabs of ribs in the freezer. There are 6 Kroger, 2 Hyvee and 2 Schnuck's in town and I just heard a Schnuck's out of St. Louis will be closing in town. None can touch the Kroger prices.

Yeah I understand. I'm very grateful and appreciative of the types of deals we get around here. I don't ever plan to take it for granted :D
