the way I saw it , sooner or later we all would be forced to upgrade to windows 10 ( computers don't last forever ) so I bit the bullet and got it over with and did the free upgrade , Microsoft says we will never have to learn another operating system , I sure hope that's true cause i'm getting to damn old to keep up with learning a new system every couple of years .

 I upgraded from win 7

its different but i'm slowly getting things where I can find them , personally I don't think much of win 10, but i'll stick with it.

no use fighting progress

I switched too but I had Windows 8 and so far I think 10 is better for the most part still some things I'm trying to get used to tho

I got Win 10 a couple weeks ago (right after it came out) its going great so far... EXCEPT if i let it sit for a few hours it will say "no internet access" when i know for a fact i have it because i have it on my cell working fine so, but all i do is just give a restart and back to normal.

I just installed it.... works well.... Easiest install I've had.... If you load it now.... lots of free apps... if you use apps...

What I am not comfortable with is that you HAVE no choice on installing "updates".  You will automatically be updated, whether you want it or not.  What I am wondering is what MS will remove from Win 10 and make it a pay feature, like they have already done with the card game Solitaire.  Wonder what will be updated to a pay feature next, the print function?

Anyhow, I am willing to wait a while and see how Win10 shakes out.

i think for the most part , its a good OS but just like anything new it takes a little playing with it until you get used to it ,

I ended up still using ie-11 instead of the new browser called "edge" because it won't accept plugins yet but they tell me that's coming later

I was a little hesitant about jumping in to soon also but , I haven't seen any major problems ,

and as far as the forced updates , there are good and bad to it ,

the bad part you have no say in what MS changes

the good part is

you will always have an up to date computer

I was having trouble finding how to fine tune things the way I like until I found out how to create a "god mode "

that give me access to all kinda things that win 10 hides

The reason I will never upgrade is because they removed Windows Media Center.  It wont affect 99% of people out there, but I used it exclusively to watch TV throughout my house.  Cant lose it :(

well its kinda like I said earlier, computers don't last forever so sooner or later we will all be forced to change , but I'm sure there is a program that you can download to replace WMC

I thought that I had used WMC  and didn't want to lose it until I clicked on it then It asked me to set it up ( I had never used it ) so after that I didn't worry about it so it did the upgrade

I did it several weeks ago. No problems so far and in fact I like it. More games and they are free if you can stand the adds (I just mute them) and do something else for the 30 secs...The download was fast and easy.

i keep hearing abut how fast the download is but I have a broadband connection and it still took 4 hours

I think if I remember correctly it gives you an option to download it to a disc or flash drive and you can do a clean install from that .

but after you get tiered of looking for stuff in win 10,  create the "god folder " you will be glad you did , it gives you easy access t a lot of

hidden settings where you can tweak things .

Upgraded as well on both my laptop and my home desktop. I've been running the tech preview for several months.

It has been plug and play and away we go on the laptop ( a fairly new Lenovo ).

The custom built desktop has been a different story. I do a ton of media and audio production as well as a ton of PC gaming and most of the high end hardware and software I'm running doesn't like 10 at all yet. It'll get there but for now I've rolled back to Windows 7 on the desktop.

Just remember to disable the automatic photo screen saver! Did you read that story of hat guy that got busted by his wife with all his "photos" in his My Photos folder haha.
