Unstable water bowl in Napoleon Apollo 300?

I recently got a Napoleon Apollo 300. When fitting the water bowl inside, it seems to rest on three small hinges in a very unstable way, with only a tiny bit of margin, to the extent that the slightest bump can cause it to fall down, with the water crashing down onto to the hot coal below ...

Am I fitting it incorrectly - there don't seem to be many ways, though - or is this just how it is, and I should either be careful or improve the hinges myself?

If it were mine I would make any improvements on their design to make it stable and safe to use,

It seems that many companies push the envelope with quality and proper material sizes to save as much money as possible

Do It Yourself and feel the satisfaction as well as the relief that nothing will go wrong,

I just set my own 300 up this past weekend and agree that there's not much room for error. However, if you set it in empty, center it, and then add water after, I think the weight should hold it in place with good stability.

I see that your post is from a number of months ago - how has it worked out for you?
