My first WSM had the shallow 1 gallon water bowl. Unfortunately I no longer have that smoker and the new one I bought has the big water bowl.

Of course, since I am an idiot ,I didn't take that into account when I built my charcoal basket and I have almost no clearance between the bowl and the basket. Makes it difficult to add additional charcoal when I have a long smoke or I want to rake the coals.

I know Brinkmann use to make a suitable bowl that worked well but its been discontinued for a while now.

Anyone has suggestions for something that works? The one he recommends over at the weber site seems like there are variances in size that its a crap shoot if you are going to get one that works.

Thanks.

Thanks. I've been to tvwbb.

I was looking to see if anyone knew of a pan like the old Brinkmann rather than ordering the mixing bowl solution they mention there and hoping I get one that fits.

I buy SS bowls at the Goodwill . Are you using water ? I know some of the guys use a flat plate in place of the water bowl .

Yes I like to use water in the bowl.

I know a lot of guys like to run it without water and it works great. What I can I say. I am just an old guy stuck in his ways lol.
