Tested positive for the covid. The doc put me on the Paxlovid. Can't wait for this effing headache to subside.

What sucks is I really don't have much in the house to smoke.Gonna have to get creative I guess.

Sorry to hear that, and I hope you bounce back soon.

Time for you to have one of the home shopping services deliver a brisket and a couple of pork butts to your front door, stat!

My wife and I just got over a nasty bout of the flu. Thankfully it wasn't the covid/flu combo. Get well soon and take it easy.

I’d rest and ponder what to cook when I felt better. The headache, fatigue and cough I had was such that I would wouldn’t have cooked peanut butter and jelly! That was several variants back.

The headache has finally subsided some. For several hours it was so bad it was bringing tears to my eyes. The only other headache I've had worse was when I had bacterial meningitis as a teen and it lasted for several days.

Jane just took another test and is still negative so I guess I'll be living in the basement until Monday!

In a few days I'll figure something to throw in the smoker.

Vaccines can do wonders like Paxlovid. Science
I have had a total of I believe 5 vaccinations for COVID 3 of which were before I got COVID. I still get them on the chance they reduce severity. Paxlovid was not out when I had it but I do understand it has helped a few friends through as have antibody infusions. There is often a rebound after discontinuing Paxlovid.

I had to make an odd trip to Las Vegas to pick up some flooring for our kitchen remodel and decided to walk the Vegas strip. I let my guard down and should have worn a mask outdoors with all those folks the night before New Years Eve. I started feeling funky Monday and woke Tuesday knowing I caught something. I tested positive. I've been vaccinated five times as I am very high risk because of a lung issue. This is the second round of Covid for me. Doc put me on Paxlovid immediately. Thankfully, everything is working to keep symptoms at bay. I know 14 people who have died from this including a married couple and one very good friend and colleague who was a Covid denier. The horse dewormer didn't do a damned thing for him. He spent over 2 months in a coma on a ventilator. Yes, even after being cautious I've had it, twice, and I'm certain I will catch yet another variant next year. But I'm alive to tell you that as there were huge worries given all my risk factors that I would not survive an infection.

My symptoms are really mild and I only had one semi-bad day. It's certainly not anywhere near the sickest I've ever been. I'm grateful for that and I'm doing my part to keep away from folks, in quarantine, to keep others safe. I should have worn a mask in Vegas. I knew better. This thing isn't over and like B BurntWeenie said, it's still killing people.

My wife and I got the initial double shots of the phizer vaccine(because my work required it) but we haven't gotten any of the boosters. I also don't get the flu shot because my sister came down with Guillain-Barre syndrome after she got the flu shot and was completely paralyzed for close to a year after. All she could do was blink her eyes. It scared the crap out of me, and I'd rather deal with the flu than that. Now the strange thing is that neither my wife or I have come down with COVID yet, but most of our family has had it at least once. Most have had it multiple times, and they are fully vaccinated including boosters. My wife basically stays at home except for her monthly trip to the Indian reservation to play the slots and buy our cigarettes. I have worked and gone shopping almost daily since Covid has been around, and feel extremely lucky so far. I will say that we both take vitamin D3 and C everyday to help with our immune systems. We also don't wear masks unless it's required. We also test every other month for Covid.

Hope that dang headache stays away and you recover soon so you can get back to smoking something!
