That is ridiculous. Seems like they have found a way to link everything to cancer these days. Cured foods have been around for thousands of years no need to stop eating them now.

Total agreement.

I can remember when they said that blue cheese caused cancer in lab rats.  What they failed to mention was the fact that the rat had to eat something like a pound of blue cheese every day to come down with the cancer.  Then later it changed and blue cheese was no longer harmful.

Just like the old saying  "Figures never lie, but liars always figure"

Go read their original documents and their "facts" sheet.  It's total BS.  If you look at the method for these papers, they select a topic for study in advance, then solicit for interested parties to join and submit the studies these "interested parties" want to use for the finding.  Of course the media picked up on the 10 second blurb that connected meat with cancer and paid no attention to the method used to get from point a to point "C".

In essence, they are selecting data to fit their desired outcome.

In their own fact sheet on this, there is one statement that confirms there is a statistical possibility their association of cancer to these foods were possibly due to "pure chance". Next April they are planing on releasing a similar study on coffee and other warm beverages.  They are soliciting members and studies to use now.

I remember a study authorized by a president many years ago to find bad things about certain drugs (I won't say which) . They found chromosome breakage...
What they didn't report is that the same dosages of common aspirin did the same thing.
Never trust "studies", or " polls". There's always an agenda...

Here's the further absurdity to this - I watched an interview with a cancer specialist regarding this study.  His comment was that a typical person has a 5% chance of contracting colon cancer.  If you ate 1 hot dog everyday for your entire life, the risk would be raised to 6%.

BTW - next study yet to come....breathing can be hazardous to your heath.

First it's the U.N.World Health Organization, they rank up there with the FDA, World Bank & the Int'l Monetary Fund as far as I'm concerned.

And eggs cause high cholesterol.... 'cept they don't.

We could go on and on.......
