Has anyone use plum wood. I have a pile from last winter from clearing out some farm ground. Burned some and smells good to me. Any thoughts?

I've used it .....trimmed branches from a plum on the property I was on. Nice, mild fruit wood.....try it with some chicken. I left the bark on, some say it should be removed.....form your own opinion on that....HTH, Willie

I used a sapling that I planted and it didn't make it. I used it for some pork and a turkey or chicken. I just know it gave a nice mild flavor.
It was the non producing type.

Yes, plum would be similar to apple, peach, pear, etc. Just be certain that it never had pesticides if it was in a lawn.

Just about all fruit wood that a person can get their hands on will have been sprayed at one time or many times over the trees life time. What a person needs to know  when was the last time it was sprayed ? Most fruit and veg,Very strong pesticides only last up to 45 days.Any wood you smoke with by the time it is dried enough to smoke with all pesticides will have evaporated.

How about a Bradford pear tree wood for smoking?ive never used it or heard of anybody using it. We see them all over the place here in MS. They don't produce fruit, more of an ornamental tree.....
