Greetings all,
With all the turkey breast posts lately I thought I’d get in on the action. Wanted to test some things out for the big TDay in a few months.

So I picked up a turkey breast from the grocery store and kept it simple. Heath Riles Apple seasoning and onto the PBC with pecan and cherry wood. A few hours later it was done and resting before slicing.

It’s good. With some tweaking it could be great, but BUT......my controversial opinion is that turkey is overrated. And it’s likely that I’ll do something different this year. First, I do have to eat this turkey!

It looks like a good smoked turkey to me. How'd it compare to the way you normally cook a turkey.

Point for sure

Thanks for the likes all!

Thanks! It is good. I like it for sure. But the past few times I've done turkey I've wondered if I really like it a lot or if it's just the only having it a few times a year thing that makes it seem better. I normally roast it in the oven and last year used the Big Easy, both are usually good.

Yup---I'd Eat That!!
Nice Job, Neighbor!!
I could almost Smell it!!
Like.

Thanks a bunch. I was hoping the TBS would make it's way over to the Bear-lodge!

Looks good to me, bet it was too.
Turkey is over rated but it can be great.
I really like to inject turkey, does wonders for flavor and juiciness.

For sure was still good. I thought about injection but just wanted to keep it as simple as possible for this one. Maybe it's worth another try with injection.....

2T Garlic powder or granulated

Add a cup of apple juice, and it's Cajun Apple Butter.

That breast looks awesome to me!
We like to do ours in the SV, they come out melt in your mouth tender with what ever flavor you choose to put in the bag!
Have one every couple weeks or so!
Good stuff!
