I have a traeger texas elite now. I guess i've had it for about 8 years. I'm looking at the Timberline and it's new design and settings and it seems as if it would produce more of a smoke flavor in the food.

Had anyone had a texas or lil tex and moved to a timberline that can compare?

I was in the same boat, with a 10 year old, well loved Tex Elite. Decided it was time to upgrade, and bought an Ironwood which has a lot of the same features as Timberline. The new Super Smoke mode does what it advertises, and I liked it a lot for the week or two that the smoker worked. Then I wasted hours of my life trying to get Traeger to live up to the their warranty. They barely answer the phone and when they do, they just want to throw parts at you, shipping them via the slowest possible method. The parts didn't fix it, and I finally gave up and my dealer got them to authorize a return. My Yoder arrives in a couple of weeks.
