The other day I was looking at this fellaâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s screen and noticed that his Internet Explorer looked quite a bit different than what I was used to seeing, and so I took a closer look. It was different–the whole top half of his browser window was solid toolbars. He had the Google toolbar, the Yahoo toolbar, his ISPâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s toolbar, a Merriam-Webster dictionary toolbar, a Dog pile toolbar, Alta Vista, some kind of stock ticker, a weather report...And at least four or five others I canâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]t recall now.
I guess he wanted to be “well-informed.â€

Please tell me none of ya'll do this.

We have a similar problem in our organization (school district) although what you describe is more than I have ever seen on a single machine. Toolbars are the first thing we uninstall if a user calls with a PC performance problem.

LOL.....cute smiley tappin' his foot......I don't even USE Internet Exploder anymore.....too many unexplained crashes. And I certainly don't let any software I install add it's own "unique" touch to my system without my knowledge.....no extra toolbars...no "free" buddy programs that are packed with the core program....etc....etc...and I NEVER EVER EVER let a program install with the "most common" method.....always take the hard route when installing, just to make sure it's going to install "what" and "where" I want it to install.

IMHO, Yahell toolbar, google's add-on toolbar, weatherbug, and other such programs are to be avoided at all costs.....they're just a tax on your system.

ok...end of rant,
Eric

Thanks for mentioning this glued. I signed up for icq recently...looks like they added a tool bar.

When installing software, be sure to look for the check boxes for installing tool bars.

I see a person having one tool bar. I don't use them personally.
Maybe, Just maybe.... 2 for the right circumstances.
