Covered up the top right 3/4 of top tray and now all 3 levels of smoker running 250 with 250 set point. Top running 225 above deflector. I'm excited. Need to come up with more permanent deflector but on the right track. Now just need to get mailbox working.

Still running 250. I knocked the bottom 2 holes in mailbox to 1 inch. Still could not keep going. Moved it inside smoker and burning fine. Think going to have to get fan or maybe try the tube.
 
I did something similar... Put a permanent "tunnel" on the roof to redirect the air flow in the smoker.....

In the red circle is a wire that is hooked to the exhaust thingy...
 
Some folks have removed the electric element and flipped it over.... more toward the center of the smoker...
