Thread display issue

In my control panel, I have things set to display the newest posts at top. lately, some forums are showing a little arrow over the subject line. In those forums, I'm displaying according to the subject line, not the newest. I can click over the date area, and see them new to old again, but I can't figure out how to make this the default for the forums that display the arrow over the subject.

No one else has mentioned this, so I assume I "flipped" a parameter switch somewhere, but I can't find it again.

Any ideas?

In this forum, all is fine, but in other forums, like Roll call, there is a little arrow above the subjects. That forum shows threads alphabetically. The arrow changes bewteen acending and decending. I wish I could figure out how to just get rid of that arrow. Piney? Dutch? Help!
