This Flu season is shaping up to be truly horrendous, and I'd just like to offer some words of warning to those who catch it.
This stuff is playing for keeps, it turns into Pneumonia very easily.
Treat every public surface as a source of infection, if some one is coughing get away from them, wash/sanitize your hands at every possible opportunity.
Please take it dead serious if you get it, stay home and rest, stay hydrated, take vitamins and if any symptoms change go to your doctor.

I know, I've been down for almost two weeks.
I though I had it whupped at the first week, nope, it turned around and drop kicked me and am now being treated for secondary pneumonia.

Please take care of yourselves, families and check on friends that have it.
My thoughts and prayers for those who have it or get it.
Stay well.

p.s.
If I cough up a lung, I'll smoke it and post the recipe.

I feel ya Brah, I got it right after Christmas and I was down for at least 3 weeks! Finally back to feeling like myself again and have made 160# of sausage since then! LOL!

Chile I had some serious kick a** bug had me down for 2 weeks.
Get well man

I had my round already, it lasted for about four days. This one was complicated. It started with a stomach flu, a combination of pain and mild nausea that briefly had me wondering if pancreatitis was coming back. I did NOT want that. Then my gut basically stopped and I had no appetite at all, wondering when I was going to crap, while I started to get that kind of body ache flu where every joint and muscle hurts. Laying in bed in the middle of the day was the most appealing activity.Eventually it cleared up and I've been OK since.

Sorry to hear about your troubles. Flu is no joke even in its standard form. This year's strain seems much worse indeed.

Get well soon...there is smoking to be done.

I will only add one thing to your list of recommendations that will minimize your chances of getting the flu: get the flu shot.

Get well soon, John. Pneumonia sucks!

My wife and I had a two week bug before Christmas, but we don't know if it was the flu. We're coming out of round 2 now. Still don't know if it was the flu. Both were uncomfortable but not like we've had in the past.

Not taking chances though. I'm staying home and not leaving the house without hand sanitizer. Now I'm even thinking of getting surgical masks. Had to go to pick up a prescription yesterday and the entire staff of the medical center was wearing them. I stopped at the grocery store on the way home and the checker didn't look too good, but she wasn't hacking and coughing.......until she handed me my change. CRAP!

Sorry to hear of that.
So far, so good here.
It went through the Daughters Family. But not the rest of us....
Knock on wood. (Raps knuckles on head...)

Smoked bacteria saturated, phlegm infused lung? What’s your rub? What wood are you going to use?

Seriously, I’m glad you made it through that. It’s a nasty season this year. My neighbor just went through a week of the stomach flu. I’m currently rocking a minor cold and want nothing to do with the flu. Even though the vaccine wasn’t quite right this year, I still got my shot.

Appreciate all the replies, I hope people take this crap seriously as the season is far from over.
I'm so happy to be feeling better, thought it'd never end.
If I hadn't been pestering my Doc he might not have taken that chest xray until too late perhaps.
I'm too young to choke to death in my own mucus.
