My father in-law hasn't been in the finest of shape for some time and had been in pain for quite some time, yesterday morning he took his own life.Very hard thing to process, just can't wrap my head around it and yet I can.

It's time for Jane and I to take a break from daily life and go do some living outside of where we live.My home town has been nothing but a place of death for the both us over the past three years.A nice trip back up Maine sounds really good right about now and a few nice concerts to go see too.So if you don't hear much from me you'll know why.

That just plain sucks! Don't really have the words but our thoughts and prayers are with you. Take as much time as you need and remember, there are many here that would lend an ear if you need a friend, or someone to vent to.

Sorry to hear this Norm, it's never easy. VT has death with dignity. I wasn't sure where I stood when it first became law, but I have since softened my stance on it and understand/accept it.

Prayers to you and your family

Chris

Sorry to hear of the loss.

It's often good to get away and breath some different air. It provides us an opportunity to digest things away from the day-to-day rat race.

It's difficult but I would take solace in it being his decision. Having watched family and relatives go through the downhill side of aging and the Hospice system, I'm not a fan of it.

I couldn't have said that better.

Very sad news Norm. Thoughts and prayers for the family at this difficult time and as you continue to try and process his decision.

Sorry for your loss, no words really ever help in these situations, but remembering to live life and go create some moments because in the end the good moments are worth the most.

Thoughts and prayers Norm.

Was sad to hear of your loss Norm. I know all too well how hard something like this can be on those who are left behind & confused. What he must have been going through had to be worse. Great idea to go get a fresh perspective which will help clear the mind and begin the healing. Hang in there guy!

Sorry to hear the bad news! You have a lot to process so the trip will do you good. Take care!
