hey ron, i guess everyone has different perspectives on life, if my wife left and went off i would have a party and be smokin seven days a week but thats me

Wish you luck selling your home. We were in your same situation, except it was me on the road, and my wife at home. It took us eight long months to sell, but everything worked out. Thoughts are with you and your wife.

Ron, you did make sure that Yoshidas was available in Utah!

good luck with all your plans Sir. our prayers are with you for a smooth transition

Ron as I see it. You are a slow learner so Carol had to step in and save the day. The place where you're at now has in a relatively short period of time ...

1. Cost both of You your jobs.
2. Sent an automobile thur a solid brick wall trying to crash it thru your living room as a giant hint.
3. Yanked your chain when the House deal fell through.
4. Tried to drown you when the pipes bit the dust.
5. Threw many obstacles in your way to generally make your life miserable.

These were giant hints from above for you to get the hell out of that place. You have ignored all of these warnings so far. Thank God that Carol in her wisdom finally acted unilaterally for the good of you both.

Man you don't take to hints readily do you? You kind of remind me of people in Poltergeist movies where the Evil spirit sends a blast of cold air down their back accompanied bye a foul stench then it whispers threatenly in their ear GETOUT !!! Do they leave? Of course not. If that happened to the majority of us we'd be out the door and running down the road and not looking back.
Yet these people stay doggedly in the house until all hell breaks loose. Only when its too late do they act. Then they have to pay some super hero to save the day.

Face it man Gnu Mexico doesn't want you and Utah does.

Seriously Ron good luck on your endeavours. I hope only the best for You and Carol and the two pups.
Keep up the good work with cutting out the smokes you cannot believe how much more cash will be jingling around in your pocket when the smokes are gone. That kind of smoking is not good for you.

The Dude is right, you've got a lot going for us so stay positive.

I would just like to thank everyone for their kind caring words and thoughts. Too many responses to answer individually though, and I read everyone of them and they have helped me to be a stronger person.

I made up my mind last night to just take one day at a time and do what I can, a little at a time.

So far as smoking I have a lot of stuff to eat up already, and it just isn't the same smoking for myself. I might do some thighs that I found in the freezer though.

I appreciate all the friends I have made here in the last 1 1/2 years.

Thank you all.

You're on the right track there! Tomorrow morning, and every morning, get up and read that post that you just wrote. You're a good guy, you'll get through it and laugh about this in a few months when you're all settled in.

Best of luck with it. My wife has been out of work for over a year and while I'm not sure we would really consider moving (I am working) it certainly would be enticing if both of us were out of work.

No reason to stop smoking, just stretch what you eat out over time :)

Best wishes!

Just an update everyone. Carol arrived in Utah in about 5 hours, not her destination though. It was about half way and it was early, 1pm. I asked her if she was just going to spend the rest of the day at a motel and she said she wasn't tired and thought she would drive a little more. Well, she drove within 60 miles for her destination and couldn't find a room. I searched the internet for a super 8 and made the call and after an hour 1/2 got her settled in. In the morning she called and said she was glad she went on because she left 3 foot of snow behind her on her heels.

Anyway she is settled and is happy there so far and is starting her job tomorrow.

Here is what I am dealing with.

Pantry almost packed it about 7' wide and 7 ' tall. Vodka is keeping me sane.

Garage loaded with boxes.

This is one job I am not looking forward to. Some crap has not been used in 12 years. I will be tossing some out.

Thanks again to all my friends here and for the great support.

Carol said to say thanks also.

Man, that brings back memories, Ron. I don't envy you, as we've made about 30 moves (I think) in the last 28 years...been in the same place for 9-1/2 years now, so that's good.

The good part is that you're moving onto greener pastures!

Keep your chin up brother, it'll be worth it when it's over and you get settled into the new house and all.

Good luck!

Eric

Sorry Ronp, somehow I missed this thread...

Utah, hmmm, do they even have internet there?

Seriously I hope all works out for you both, a lot of stress to deal with, new job, new home, new area to live in. Hell it's tough finding a good barber, dentist, doctor, auto mechanic when you move.

Wishing you the best...
