Ron,

Since joining the Forum I have always enjoyed your posts. They were informative and always very useful to me. This change is a new beginning and I'm sure when you get settled in your location we will be enjoying your posts again soon.

Best of luck and I'm glad to say that your quitting smoking is just temporary.

Take care, John

Well it looks like it took an act of God to get your hind end out of that chair and to Utah... and there's no excuse for no smokin. I know for a fact you've smoked dog food. Your taking a vital link out of the chain of normallacy. And what are the neighbors gonna do without that sweet smell rollin off the roof? Even a slice of bologna everynow and then man!!!

In the famous words of Richoso.... it's all good my friend.

Let me add my support for you and Carol during this big change in your lives. I've moved a household many times in my life, and it's never fun or easy. Just keep your eyes on the prize - short term disruption is leading to longer-term reward. We'll all be waiting impartiently for you to surface, stronger than ever!

Mark

Well Ron, the only thing I can add to this is "Welcome to Utah, it's about dang time!"

If I can point you in the direction of a Realtor, let me know.

You know we gotta do the "Meet and eat" thing when you and Carol get settled in.

Our best wishes are with you and Carol, Ron. Change can be a stressflul thing. Here's hoping everything works out for you in Utah, and remember that you always have a support group here at SMF. Good luck and God Bless!

Hey Ron - congrats to Carol on finding a new job. She must be so happy. Looks like this is going to be a great adventure for the two of you and in a place you wanted to be in the first place. Best of luck with the house.

It's been a real pleasure here Ron. I've enjoyed our contacts and friendship. Dang, I was hoping to meet you. We're planning a trip to Sedona Az and would be traveling right thru there this summer. Oh well, maybe someday we'll cross paths. Thanks for all the info you've given me.
You, your wife and dogs take care and be safe.

Hey Ron,
What's going on? You sound bummed out. Let's try looking at this a different way.

You and Carol both lost your jobs. -1
Now she has a new one! +1
And it's at a University +1
And it's in Utah where you wanted to go anyway +1
She packed 75% of the house so you don't have to +1
You have to do the rest -1
You get a couple of weeks for some "you" time +1
There's some POTENTIAL (not certain) house selling issues -1
HP is moving to town and likely bringing some new jobs. They'll need a place to live +1

I know it's a big change and old dogs hate new tricks, but from where I'm sitting, things are looking up for you. Not down. Stay positive. You've got a whole month to get your stuff done. Every day make a list of what needs to be done. Everyday make sure you get through a thing or two on that list and put a big red check mark next to it. It's amazing how good it makes you feel to be able to see the progress you're making. Do not just sit on your butt and sulk. It'll make you feel crappy, and you won't get anything done.

This really is for the best and you know it if you sit and think about it.

Try to enjoy the time alone. Sleep in, pack a couple of boxes, take a nap, make a phone call to a realtor, smoke some meat, watch something on TV you like and Carol hates, repeat. It'll be the end of February before you know it.

Now go smoke a Yoshida's soaked Sam's Club rotisserie chicken, shred that sucker and eat off of it for a couple of days. Just because you and Carol are apart for a little while is no reason at all to give up what you love. Be honest with yourself...you loved cooking for her,but you also loved cooking for you and for all of us that like to look at your posts.

The one I feel sorry for is that dammed hummingbird.

“Life is short and complicated and nobody knows what to do about it. So don't do anything about it. Just take it easy, man. Stop worrying so much whether you'll make it into the finals. Kick back with some friends and some oat soda and whether you roll strikes or gutters, do your best to be true to yourself and others - that is to say, abide.”

Knowing that, now you can die with a smile on your face without feelin’ like the Good Lord gypped you.

See ya later on down the trail.

Ron,best of luck to you and your wife , I'm going to miss your Q-view and your knowledge of the MES, don't forget about this site,,,,,,

I know it is no consolation right now, but my experience has been when things like this happen it has always been a good thing that it did. (Looking back on it down the road.) Other than having to find a new place to park your smoker things don't sound all that bad. Good Luck and try and have fun.

Good luck with the move Ron ! If you need anything pm me as Texas is not that far away .

.... or even worse Olympia! I mean have you ever tried that beer - yech!

Just kidding Fishawn... had to defend my state!
