Greetings to all, and I hope you are having a good summer!!! I am currently using an electric Smoke Hollow smoker, and the results have been very, very good. I am very pleased with the results. I am, however thinking of expanding my horizons and possibly purchasing an offset smoker and trying my hand at that. I was wondering if anyone had any good advice about type, ease of use, possible modifications, etc. So far, all of the tips and advice here have been outstanding, and am hoping that all of you that are more experienced than myself can give me some more great ideas. As of right now, I have been looking at some Char-Griller models, but am not sure how well they function or what kind of modifications would be needed.

Thanks in advance for any info!!!

Drt, welcome . IMHO , I would do a survey of different brands/models and go with the Budget you have.

Also , if you do a modest amount of Entertaining , look at a size larger than you planned on , better quality and once you have learned you new Smoker , it can be as efficient as you need.

I went from a smaller one to :

the one on the Left and love it ; but I love to Party

Have fun and . . .

DRT, evening...   Get a good one....  Less expensive smokers will give you a headache modding them and all their inherent problems....   For a relaxing smoke, you gotta step up or find a used one for a fair price....
